You may recall that we recently premiered Jy’s last track ‘Glide’, depicting it as a “blissful piece of electronica.” Staying right on brand, the Los Angeles producer shares another floating composition titled ‘Blossom’. As he shared on Instagram alongside a meta video clip; this song was written after all of the music Jy had made in 2018 was deleted. Most of us know that gut-wrenching feeling when technology strips away our work, photos, music libraries etc. and with it, our memories. It can be all too easy to mourn over this loss, although Jy took the opportunity to move forward as we hear in the repeated lyric, “I don’t think I need you anymore.” Through sparse beats and glitchy samples, Jy lets go of the past with serene simplicity. - Hannah Thacker
